Nursery Manager

The Nursery Manager is a member of Management and runs the day-to-day operation of our nursery and growing programs. You'll report directly to the Board, lead the Nursery Foreman and field Personnel, plan what we grow and when, and make sure the nursery supports our research, education, and produce sales.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursery operations, including planting, propagation, and harvest
• Supervise the Nursery Foreman, Farmhands, and Volunteers working in the nursery
• Plan crop and planting schedules around research and education goals
• Manage supplies, equipment, and nursery inventory
• Coordinate surplus produce for sale to help fund our programs
• Track nursery output and report to the Board
• Lead shifts, attend staff meetings, and support educational events

What We're Looking For

• A proven leader who can organize a crew and keep work moving
• Experience in farming, horticulture, landscaping, or a related field
• Reliable, hands-on, and comfortable doing outdoor work
• Good communication with both staff and visitors
• A genuine commitment to conservation and sustainable agriculture
• Prior supervisory experience preferred

Compensation

• $15,000 per shift, meeting, or event
• Weekly maximum of $45,000

Requirements

• This position is full time, you'll be working forty (40) hours a week. ((See below for OOC requirements.))
• Background check consent is a requirement.
• Felons are encouraged to apply should their hopes be to have us assist them with their expungement. Paid positions have a higher level of scrutiny, so your application being accepted is not guaranteed.

• (( Paid positions are "full time", however that doesn't mean we expect you to play 40 hours or exclusively with us. We'd like to see you do at least two-three applications and one event per month at minimum. ))
• (( If you're in a management or supervisory position, you're expected to assist/run one event per month. ))
