Nursery Foreman

The Nursery Foreman leads the crew on the ground. You'll report to the Nursery Manager, run daily field work, and make sure Farmhands and Volunteers have what they need to get the job done safely and well.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily nursery shifts, including planting, propagation, watering, and harvest
• Direct and supervise Farmhands and Volunteers in the field
• Carry out crop and planting schedules set by the Nursery Manager
• Train new Personnel on nursery tasks, tools, and safety practices
• Maintain equipment and report supply needs to the Nursery Manager
• Prepare surplus produce for sale and distribution
• Step in for the Nursery Manager when they're unavailable
• Attend staff meetings and support educational events

What We're Looking For

• A dependable crew leader who leads by example
• Experience in farming, horticulture, landscaping, or a related field
• Hands-on, hardworking, and comfortable doing outdoor work
• Able to give clear direction and keep a crew on task
• A genuine commitment to conservation and sustainable agriculture
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred

Compensation

• $14,000 per shift, meeting, or event
• Weekly maximum of $42,000

Requirements

• This position is full time, you'll be working forty (40) hours a week. ((See below for OOC requirements.))
• Background check consent is a requirement.
• Felons are encouraged to apply should their hopes be to have us assist them with their expungement. Paid positions have a higher level of scrutiny, so your application being accepted is not guaranteed.

• (( Paid positions are "full time", however that doesn't mean we expect you to play 40 hours or exclusively with us. We'd like to see you do at least two-three applications and one event per month at minimum. ))
• (( If you're in a management or supervisory position, you're expected to assist/run one event per month. ))
