Farmhand/Worker

Farmhands do the essential work that keeps our farm and nursery running. You'll report to the Nursery Foreman and work alongside fellow Personnel and Volunteers on planting, upkeep, and harvest.

Responsibilities

• Plant, water, weed, and harvest crops in the nursery and fields
• Assist with propagation, soil preparation, and general grounds upkeep
• Use and care for farm tools and equipment properly and safely
• Help prepare surplus produce for sale and distribution
• Follow direction from the Nursery Foreman and Nursery Manager
• Work alongside and help guide Volunteers during shifts
• Attend staff meetings and support educational events

• Comfortable with physical, outdoor work
• Works well as part of a team and takes direction well
• A genuine interest in conservation and sustainable agriculture
• No prior farming experience required, we'll train you

Compensation

• $11,000 per shift, meeting, or event
• Weekly maximum of $33,000

Requirements

• This position is full time, you'll be working forty (40) hours a week. ((See below for OOC requirements.))
• Background check consent is a requirement.
• Felons are encouraged to apply should their hopes be to have us assist them with their expungement. Paid positions have a higher level of scrutiny, so your application being accepted is not guaranteed.

(( OOC Requirements ))

• (( Paid positions are "full time", however that doesn't mean we expect you to play 40 hours or exclusively with us. We'd like to see you do at least two-three applications and one event per month at minimum. ))
• (( If you're in a management or supervisory position, you're expected to assist/run one event per month. ))
